Martha
Kelly-Fierro’s eclectic
choreography stems from her
background of well-versed
dance training, including
jazz, tap, ballet, and
modern. Early in her career,
she assisted New York and
Los Angeles based
choreographers, such as
Keith Clifton and Jeff
Amsden. Her stage experience
consists of "Between Lines"
(a modern dance company
based in L.A.), "Angel City
Dance Company", L.A. Dance
Invitational, several
benefits, and The Jazz Dance
World Congress
(1998-receiving the Gold Leo
award). She also has studied
extensively with Mia
Michaels, Artistic Director
of R.A.W. and choreographer
for Cirque de Soleil, and
Jenn Ballard, Artistic
Director for Cedar Lake
Dance Ensemble.
Martha’s choreography has
also received much
recognition nationwide by
movement set on professional
companies, such as The
Houston Metropolitan Dance
Company, and choreography
set on her own contemporary
company, Altered Modalities.
As a choreographer, Martha
has won the Gold Leo award
at the Jazz Dance World
Congress 2000, the “new
choreographer” award at
Dance Under the Stars, and

concerts and benefits
throughout the West Coast.
Most recently, her company
was asked to perform in New
York City for a Dancers
Responding to AIDS (DRA)
annual festival.
Martha has toured with such
dance
conventions/competitions as

numerous awards at nearly
every convention circuit
throughout the United
States. Her choreography and
those who train consistently
with her receive awards for
their strong technique,
unique choreography, and
overall passion for
movement.
For nearly ten years, Martha
was a featured dancer, dance
captain, and eventually the
prime choreographer for the
official “pageant dancers”
in The Miss California
Pageant. Traveling to
Guatemala for several years,
Martha has had the
opportunity to share her
knowledge of movement and
technical style with dancers
who were hungry for more
information and artistry.
Martha has showcased her
company at The University of
Arizona, Fullerton College,
California Polytechnic
University San Luis Obispo,
and College of the Sequoias.
She has also been asked to
have her company guest
perform at several benefits
and concerts.
Martha is esteemed as a
respected choreographer and
master teacher for her
unique combined stylistic
form of dance. Martha
travels throughout the
country and abroad sharing
her information and setting
her choreography on those up
to an artistic, physical,
and technical challenge. |
